I am a medical microbiologist who loves delicious food, writing and lists. :)

So I was on a Youtube deep dive the other day, trying to find another delicious recipe to cook and enjoy in front of the TV (guilty! – aren’t we all?), when I stumbled upon a channel that gave me serious “favorite aunt that cooks the most delicious food ever and gives you multiple Tupperware containers full of it when you leave her house” vibes: Rachel cooks with love recipes. I was so curious!

Who is Rachel cooks with love?

Her Youtube channel bio provides some information for us: Rachel Guzman is a food vlogger who joined Youtube in 2019. She is passionate about cooking (same!) and happiest when she is in the kitchen (same, but I must admit I also adore sitting at the dining table :)). Just like all “aunty vibes” ladies I know, she learned all her cooking skills from her mother.

And just like that, we have the guarantee that all her recipes will be exquisite! With 506k subscribers at the moment, it seems that there are hundreds of thousands of people who feel exactly the same.

Moreover, her attitude impressed me so much. She thrives on challenges but permits herself to fail sometimes. Shouldn’t we all think like this? No pressure, unless it’s in the crockpot!

Rachel cooks with love recipes playlists

The channel has everything already organized in playlists (excellent for my lazy bottom). The videos make you feel like Rachel is cooking right in front of you. From now on, whenever I miss cooking with my mom, I will watch one of many Rachel cooks with love recipes:

Chicken recipes

  1. Chicken Bacon Ranch Casserole

Personally, I love all types of casseroles. They are easy to make, easy to store and easy to eat! Chicken casseroles are on top of my list because they cost little to make. Also, they can be adapted to have fewer calories (if you want to). Be careful, though, Rachel’s chicken casserole has a very important ingredient without which the final taste will not be as great: LOVE <3.

2. Best baked chicken

3. Green Chile Chicken and Cheese TAMALES

4. Chicken and Dumplings

5. Chicken and Squash with Corn

Pork delights

  1. Best Country Style Bbq Pork Ribs

Ohh, how I love these words – “Pork delights”! I feel like pork is the type of meat that is delicious no matter how you choose to cook it. Always tasty, always juicy, always tender, always delicious.

Ribs are a type of cut that I could eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner and two snacks every day without ever being tired of them. Rachel’s recipe looks so good, I am afraid I will want to eat ribs made this way daily.

If you’d like a smokier way of cooking ribs, try a recipe from my Pit Boss recipes article.

2. Costillitas de Puerco con Frijoles | Pork Ribs with beans in Red sauce

Side dishes extraordinaire

  1. Delicious Coleslaw Salad

Side dishes that give exquisite vibes (see what I did there?), cooked by a great lady who knows her way around the kitchen. Best part? This playlist has recipes for those of us who love a bit of meat in our meals, but also for vegetarians or non-meat eaters. Everybody will find a delicious recipe to suit their preferences.

3. 5 Star Roasted Potatoes

4. Roasted Carrots with Rosemary and Thyme

5. Delicious Corn Casserole

Seafood and fish treasures

  1. Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo

I want them swimming in my stomach, please! I don’t know about you, but I love seafood. When I am not in the mood for heavier meats (rarely), I like to enjoy a big plate of shrimps, oysters, octopus and every other type of seafood. If you’d like to try them too, you have a full playlist of delicious recipes on the channel.

2. Seafood Gumbo // Homemade Seasoning

Ohh, how I also love seafood. I am always on the look for new recipes. For now, I have some shrimp fajitas recipes or some Moroccan-Spiced Shrimp, if you’d like to try.

Hearty, creamy dishes – Rachel cooks with love

  1. Pastel Azteca

“Creamy” is one of my favorite words when it comes to food! Also, I had never heard of hearty dishes, but I decided to give it a try! I had never eaten a pastel azteca before discovering this recipe, but I have to tell you I found it delicious.

2. Enchiladas Poblanas // Chicken enchiladas in poblano sauce

Mexican food is one of the greatest, most delicious types of food I have ever enjoyed in my life. Even though I live far from Mexico, I try my best to recreate recipes I find online. There are some great YouTubers who help me in my endeavors, such as Rachel cooks with love or cooking con Claudia Regalado.

3. Skillet Fried Chicken and Gravy

4. Broccoli Cheese Soup

Beef dishes – Rachel cooks with love

  1. Beef Enchilada Casserole

At first, beef recipes may seem very hard to cook and intimidating. However, when you have the right recipe you can obtain a great result even if you are not very confident in your skills. This Beef Enchilada Casserole is great for dinner and lunch at home. If you’d like to enjoy it further, casseroles are a great way to pack lunch for work.

2. Caldo De Albondigas // Mexican Meatball Soup

3. Braised Beef Short Ribs

5. CARNE MOLIDA con ARROZ Y PAPAS // Ground Beef with Rice and Potatoes

Deserts, sweets that please – PLEASE!

  1. Homemade Donuts – Rachel cooks with love

The conflict between me and my pilates trainer (and friend) about eating deserts will never be over. I am sorry, my lazy bottom will forever enjoy desert even if it means that my results will never be 100% great. The compromise is having one donut every day, with coffee. Lucky me, homecooked deserts are not only healthier, but better than processed sweets overall. YOLO, right?

2. Strawberry and Banana Shortcakes // NO BAKING

3. Best Buñuelos and Syrup

4. Upside Down Pecan Apple pie

Do you like sweets as much as I do, but would like some recipes where you can enjoy your favorite desserts in a healthier, lower-calorie way? I got you. Try some Will Tennyson recipes, James Remington recipes, Josh Cortis recipes, or Chloe Ting recipes. Same taste, less stress.

6. Sticky walnut Upside down Banana Bread

For many other recipes and variations on banana bread, try my banana bread recipes article.

Pasta delights – Rachel cooks with love

  1. Cheesy Sausage Stuffed Shells

PASTA DELIGHTS, people! If anything fits in the “delights” category, I will try it. Who doesn’t love a good, homemade, plate of juicy pasta? No matter the shape and recipe, I have never found a dish of pasta I didn’t like.

2. Creamy Chicken Mushroom Pasta Bake

Pasta is one of the coziest foods out there. I don’t know what it is about it, but eating a pasta meal just makes me feel like home. I have collected 65 pasta and noodles recipes for you if you’d like more inspiration for your meals!

The “Rachel cooks with love” recipes channel proves that you don’t need fancy equipment or complicated recipes to cook delicious food for yourself and your loved ones. Even if it was an accidental find for me, I love the channel’s nostalgic vibe and her attitude toward food.
