Ohhh, we all know it. Nothing beats grandma’s cooking. Even if you did not have one growing up, I am sure you had the chance to taste the delicious meals cooked by some of your friends’ grandmas. Who knows, maybe cooking like a grandmother is a talent you just get the moment you have grandkids. Or it just comes with experience? In my quest of finding great recipes on Youtube, I stumbled upon another amazing channel: Cooking with Brenda Gantt recipes.
You already know, Rachel cooks with love gives me amazing loving aunt vibes, and In the Kitchen with Gina Young is like that big sister everybody loves because she takes care of you when you come home after school. I just adore these ladies!
Who is Brenda Gantt?
Brenda Gantt is a lovely 74-year-old retired school teacher who lives in Andalusia, AL, United States. She started cooking on Youtube during the Coronavirus pandemic and reached great popularity by going viral, but her subscribers’ number is hidden. All we know is that she managed to get over 5 million views in less than a year and that she has already started a second cooking channel where she posted 442 videos. On her Facebook page, she has an impressive 2.9 million followers. Recently, she posted a video on her second channel announcing getting more than 1 million subscribers on the main channel. I am sure the number kept rising over the past few months!
Like all great cooks on Youtube, she learned how to make delicious meals from her mother. Her cooking and personality give amazing “lovely grandma” vibes and just make you want to try all the recipes to check for yourself if the taste really matches the hype (guess what, IT DOES!).
Does Brenda Gantt have a cookbook?
Those of you who prefer having a cookbook instead of watching Youtube videos or reading recipes on my blog should know that 100 Cooking with Brenda Gantt recipes can be found in her volume “It’s gonna be good, y’all”. You can buy the book for 35$ at an online store hoffmanmediastore.com.

What I love most about Brenda Gantt is not the fact that her recipes are delicious, but how genuine she seems and how much she enjoys sharing her knowledge with the world. The titles of her videos do not stop at the recipe’s name, but they offer a bit of information about her children and grandchildren or other things she thinks we might enjoy. Moreover, her videos are not just about describing a recipe. She gives out advice, makes jokes and talks to her viewers just as they are next to her in the kitchen. What a wonderful experience watching Cooking with Brenda Gantt recipes is!
